Organization and Planning

September 23, 2006

This is a first entry on money management for college students. Others will follow.
Organization and Planning
-You are in college, and you might getting money from your parents, or from loan. But, you know you can save money from the “allowance” you get, or the loan you have. I know there are a lot of parties going on, a lot of beers to drink but you are still in college, and money can be scarce.
-Get a used notebook, or open an excel sheet, and track your spending. It is a great way not to spend more than what you budget allows. It is also a great way to track your spending habits, which will be useful for upcoming section (save money).
-Try to use you credit card wisely, the lesser, the better. However, I actually encourage you to have a credit card, because overtime, you’ll be able to build a good credit history. We will get to that later on.
-Keep your receipt, and check your banking account statement. See if they didn’t charge you more.
-Keep track of the credit card account. Pay your credit money, before the due date, so you don’t have to pay for interest. Also, that’s how debt starts to accumulate.
if you have any other suggestions, please comment about them.
